PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more reduce an error in feeding quantity by a simple configuration without incurring costs. SOLUTION: A recording device records by moving a carriage for scanning that carries a recording head with a plurality of recording elements arranged in a predetermined direction, over a recording medium in a direction intersecting the arrangement direction of the recording elements. In the recording device which has a transfer part for transferring the recording medium, it is judged from a position of the recording medium whether or not it is necessary to correct an error of the transfer amount by the transfer part (S604). When it is judged that the correction is necessary, the correction is carried out by at least either setting of the recording elements to be used for recording, or adjustment of an indication value of the transfer amount to the transfer part (S605).
