PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance productivity by effectively cooling the electrode section of a torch nozzle in a short time and thereby effectively preventing spatters from sticking to the electrode section in the next welding. SOLUTION: With the purpose of preventing spatters from sticking to the torch nozzle 6 for inert gas shielded arc welding, a high pressure air is blown against the electrode section of the torch nozzle 6 heated in welding, in which case cooling water 14 is sprayed in and mixed with the high pressure air.
