PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of securing the airtightness of a dust chamber. SOLUTION: A dust lid 7 is provided with a support rib 38 butting against the dust chamber 12 side portion of a seal packing 21. When the dust chamber 12 is blocked with the dust lid 7, the dust chamber 12 side part of the mounted portion 22 of the sealing packing 21 is mounted is supported by the support rib 38. A coiling of the seal packing 21 toward the dust chamber 12 side due to a lowering of pressure in the dust chamber 12 due to the driving of the electric blower 13 is prevented by the support rib 38. When a partition 11 deflects toward the dust chamber 12 side and the seal packing 21 moves to the dust chamber side, the dust lid 7 follows the movement of the seal packing 21. A formation of a clearance between the dust lid 7 and the dust chamber 12 is prevented and the airtightness of the dust chamber 12 can be secured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
