A GI insert section (105) inserts a guard interval in the transmission data. Delay adders (107-1, 107-2) set a delay time for the transmission data. A reach time calculation section (115) calculates, from the reception data of each directivity, a reach time from the data transmission from a communication partner until the data is received for each directivity. A delay time decision section (116) calculates a reach time difference between transmission data transmitted by two directivities and the calculated reach time difference is set as a delay time for the transmission data transmitted with the directivity having the smaller reach time. A GI length decision section (117) sets the smallest reach time among the reach time values calculated as the guard interval. Thus, in the radio communication system applying a system for transmitting an OFDM signal by arranging directivity to it, the transmission rate can be improved by reducing the guard interval length. |
