The invention relates to a method and system for controlling access to resources which can be accessed from a private local area network comprising wireless access points. According to the invention, a private local area network (1) comprises wireless access points (3, 4, 5) in order to provide links with wireless terminals (8, 9) which are located in a wireless coverage area of said private local area network. The invention consists in: saving cartographic data which define at least one area (14), inside the aforementioned coverage area (6), with authorised access to the resources (18); and estimating representative parameters of the geographical location of a wireless terminal on the basis of measurements of signals received by the wireless access points from said terminal. Authorisation to access the resources from the terminal is dependent on a comparison between the estimated parameters and the stored cartographic data.
