METHOD OF MANAGING SERVICE CONTEXT FOR CALLING USER TERMINAL IN MULTIMEDIA BROADCAST/MULTICAST SERVICE

PURPOSE: A method of managing a service context for calling a user terminal in an MBMS(Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service) is provided to enable an RNC(Radio Network Controller) and an SGSN(Serving GPRS Support Node) to maintain MBMS linking information of a UE(User Equipment) if the UE is in PMM(Packet Mobility Management)-idle/RRC(Radio Resource Control) connected mode, thereby effectively supplying an MBMS. CONSTITUTION: When a UE(502) transmits an RRC connection setup request message to an RNC(504)(510), the RNC(504) responds to the message by an RRC connection setup message(512). If the UE(502) transmits an RRC connection setup complete message(514), an RRC connection setup is completed between the UE(502) and the RNC(504). The RNC(504) uses an MBMS UE validate request message to decide whether a requested MBMS is valid(516). If so, information on the RNC(504) is added to the first MBMS context(518).
