PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a greatly tapered bristle for a toothbrush, which is made of PBT or PET, which has improved flexibility and durability, and which can more properly remove dental plaque. SOLUTION: The bristle for the toothbrush, whose tapered part starts to taper down from a position 10 mm or less away from the tip of the bristle, is characterized in that the diameter of the tip of the tapered bristle is set in a range of 0.04-0.06 mm.
