PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and/or reproducing device in which distortion caused by heat contraction is suppressed. SOLUTION: This recording and/or reproducing device has: a pickup chassis 101; a cover member 90 which is formed with an opening part 166 through which a pickup 114 and a disk table 102 face toward a recording surface side of a disk type recording medium 4 and constitutes, when connected to the pickup chassis 101, one part of a housing recessed part 15 for housing the disk type recording medium 4; and a disk tray 5. The disk tray 15 has the housing recessed part 15 of an almost circular arc which houses the disk type recording medium 4 and which is formed with an opening part 16 through which the cover member 90 faces toward the recording surface side of the disk type recording medium 4, and the disk tray 5 constitutes the housing recessed part 15 together with the cover member 90 when being connected to the pickup chassis 101. The pickup chassis 101, the cover member 90, and the disk tray 5 are formed by members of which the linear expansion coefficient are different from each other and in the disk tray 5, a projection 175 keeping clearance between on outer periphery wall 170 and the cover member 90 is formed at a housing wall 170 extended on the opening part 16.
