PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily input characters in a device for inputting the characters. SOLUTION: Frames other than the ones at four corners of a center block 82 can be changed with respective items inside the frames of a left block 83 or a right block 84 and the frames at the four corners are set as the items not to be changed (as the items displayed at all times to be selected). When inputting the character, a user selects a desired character or symbol from the items inside the center block 82. The selection is made by an operation member matched in images with the positions of the respective items of the center block 82.
