PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoresis display element that the problems associated with the transfer of electrophoresis particles and the leakage of a dispersion liquid are solved. SOLUTION: The electrophoresis display element comprises microcapsules containing the dispersion liquid consisting of two kinds of the electrophoresis particles with polarities and colors different from each other and a dispersion medium disposed on desired positions of a substrate with first and second electrodes provided thereon. Display is carried out by moving the two kinds of the electrophoresis particles in a direction of the first electrode or the second electrode with voltages applied to the first and second electrodes. Here, the colors of the two kinds of the electrophoresis particles are white and black respectively so as to carry out a black and white display.
