PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multibeam scanner in which the overall size of the device is miniaturized and a deflection means and a motor or the like are simply composed. SOLUTION: In the multi beam scanner provided with a light source means having a plurality of light emitting points arranged with a space in the main scanning direction and a deflection means which deflects a plurality of luminous fluxes emitted from the light source means toward a plane to be scanned, when a light emitting point which emits a luminous flux among the plurality of luminous fluxes emitted from the light source means which arrives at a position which is farthest from the center of the deflection plane of the deflection means in the main scanning direction, is defined as a first light emitting point, and another point which emits another luminous flux is defined as a second light emitting point, the second light emitting point is firstly ignited within an external angular region on an upstream side existing at the upstream side in the rotational direction of the deflection means rather than an effective scanning angular region for deflecting the luminous flux toward the effective scanning region on the plane to be scanned within an angular region which is deflectable with the deflection means.
