摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To well maintain the thermal responsiveness of a roller surface with a heating member during fixing operation by performing working to enhance the strength at both ends of the roller of a fixing device and eliminating geometrical distortion when cutting the roller surface. SOLUTION: In working the heat roller 10 of the fixing device, drawn parts 21 by drawing are formed at both ends of a tube to provide both ends with thick portions. Inserts 15 are press fitted into the drawn parts 21 to increase the strength in clamping these parts. A grinding wheel is then placed on the surface of a roller body 11 and working of taper parts 23 is performed. Thereafter, driven parts are formed on the outer side of the drawn parts 21 by combining a gear member 17, and a heater member 13 of a heating source is positioned inside the heat roller 10.
