PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding and sliding box door capable of definitely closing any gap between a wall surface and a panel, the weight of which is supported by a bottom runner. SOLUTION: In a folding and sliding door having at least a pair of panels connected together with hinges in a rotatable manner; a panel 1a is supported in a movable manner by an upper runner moving along an upper rail and a lower runner 14a moving along the lower rail 12a; and the weight of the panel 1a is borne by the lower runner 14a and each panel is supported in a rotatable manner by the upper runner and the lower runner 14a each being a point of support in rotation; and lower limit position setting means 20, 25 and 26 for setting the lower limit positions of the panels are formed in the lower runner 14a of a pair of panels and the panel is supported in a freely movable manner up and down above the lower limit position.
