METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ZINC ACRYLATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing zinc acrylate of high purity and excellent fluidity. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method comprises reacting acrylic acid with zinc oxide in an organic solvent in the presence of a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of 1-12. Use of the nonionic surfactant having an HLB of 1-12 gives zinc acrylate having high purity and exhibiting minor fluctuation in the water content, which requires no purification steps and hardly suffers from decrease in fluidity due to water absorption.
