PURPOSE: Provided is a polymer for a photochromic matrix and provided is the photochromic polymer matrix containing the polymer, which can produce glass or mirrors capable of controlling a transmissivity and/or a reflectivity by coating the glass or the mirrors with the photochromic polymer matrix. CONSTITUTION: The polymer for the photochromic matrix is represented by the formula (4) or (5) and is produced by polymerizing an alkyl methacrylate represented by the formula (1) or salts thereof and 2-methacryloxy ethyl triammonium chloride represented by the formula (2) or a vinyl monomer of a phosphonium salt represented by the formula (3), wherein R1 is hydrogen, halogen, hydroxy, alkyl, alkoxy alkyl, or phenyl, R2 is C1-C12 alkyl, alkoxy alkyl, or phenyl, R3-R5 are hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, hydroxy alkyl, alkoxy alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, phenyl, l and m are integer times of 1-4, and n is an integer of 1-4. And the photochromic polymer matrix is formed by mixing the polymer represented by the formula (4) or (5) and a photochromic organic compound.
