PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost belt tensioner applying proper tension to a belt even when flexure occurs in the belt. SOLUTION: A support shaft 31 is attached to an attachment plate 30, and a bearing 32 is attached to an engagement shaft 31a of the support shaft 31. A tension ring 33 in contact with the belt 26 is replaceably attached to an outer g gear 32b of the bearing 32. If flexure occurs in the belt 26, it is reattached to a tension ring which is radially larger than the tension ring 33 to apply proper tension to the belt 26.
