PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver with an off-timer function characterized in that lightness of a television screen and sound volume are set to states stored in advance by a user when an off-timer is set, and a television power source is turned off at an off-timer setting time. SOLUTION: The off-timer setting time inputted via an input means 11 is set to a control means 16. When the off-timer is set, the control means 16 reads the states of the appropriate lightness of the screen and sound volume stored in advance by the user from a storage means 16, and a screen lightness control means 12 and a sound volume control means 13 are set to the states. Besides, the control means 16 decides whether it is the off-timer setting time or not and when it is the setting time, a power supply control means 15 stops supplying power to the television receiver.
