<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid over-discharge of a battery, generation of heat, etc. caused by supplying an electric current to an electromagnetic solenoid for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus 10 for locking a steering system has a timer circuit 112 which operates a control unit 110 when a sleeve 16 is manipulated so as to be turned to a drive-permitted position from a drive-prohibited position or to the drive prohibited position from the drive permitted position, and which stops the current supply state of the electromagnetic solenoid 32 after a required lapse of time from the start of current supply to the electromagnetic solenoid 32 by the control unit 110. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
