PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passing on press working method and device which enable press working to be performed without damaging a press die or degrading workability, even if no pilot pin corresponds in position to a pilot hole of an object to be press-worked. SOLUTION: In the passing on press working device, the pilot pin 1 that fits to the pilot hole 4 formed in a belt-like metallic member 16 is connected with the press die 3 by means of a spring 2 installed in the pilot pin embedding hole 3a of the press die 3. Accordingly, the pilot pin 1 is made relatively movable against the press die 3 between a positioning location where the pilot pin projects from the press die 3 to the belt-like metallic member 16 and a positioning canceling location where the pilot pin is fully buried in the embedding hole 3a of the press die 3.
