PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the purity of cake C as a product by cleaning the cake C much more without making the size of a basket 5 larger and giving strong driving force to a rotary driving means at a step to clean the cake C by using a centrifugal separator. SOLUTION: The subject centrifugal separation method comprises a cake forming step to form the cake C by supplying slurry S into a rotatable basket 5 and separating the supplied slurry S centrifugally and a cake cleaning step to clean the cake C obtained at the cake forming step by supplying a cleaning liquid L to the cake C and separating the supplied liquid L centrifugally from the cake C, wherein the cake cleaning step is composed of a plurality of cleaning steps to clean the once-cleaned cake C again by supplying the liquid L again to the cake C and separating the supplied liquid L centrifugally from the cake C.
