PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus facilitating work of passing through a complicated curved part such as the sigmoid colon by positively bending a second bending section before a flexible tube starts bending even if pressing a bending section in the curved state against an intestinal wall when passing through the curved part of the intestines. SOLUTION: The bending section 16 has a first bending section 39 on the distal side, and the second bending section 40 connected to the first bending section 39 and formed harder in hardness to axial bending than the first bending section 39. An insertion portion 7 is formed to set hardness to axial bending of the second bending section 40 less than hardness to axial bending of the flexible tube section 15 in the state of bending the bending section 16 at about 90°or more with the pull operation of a traction wire 50 by a bending operation knob 30.
