PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily select a flickering lamp by quantifying the flickering phenomenon of a light source lamp. SOLUTION: This flickering detector 10 is provided with a luminance level measuring instrument 12 and a microcomputer 14. The luminance level measuring instrument 12 measures the luminance level of the illumination emitted from the lamp 22 of the light source device 20. The microcomputer 14 calculates a flickering quantity of the illumination based on the luminance level of the illumination detected by the luminance level measuring instrument 12 and determines whether the illumination is flickered or not based on the flickering quantity.
