<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar code label in which information other than a bar code can be recorded without exerting influence on the reading of the bar code by setting a wavelength area based on the reflected light spectral distribution of a background color of the label to a wavelength area approximately equal to the wavelength area of spectral distribution of a light source. <P>SOLUTION: The bar code label is provided with a label 1 on which a bar code 2 is printed and a label 3 formed by coloring a semi-transparent member having at least the same size as the label 1 by a background color instructed in Fig.1 and one bar code label is formed by sticking the label 3 to the bar code face of the label 1. An adhesive member which is not shown is applied to the rear face of the label 3 to stick the label 3 to the label 1.
