<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to receive information provision services easily at a mobile terminal. <P>SOLUTION: The user of the mobile terminal 101 is artificially determined so as to be discriminable by a person or an apparatus using an imaging means 201, and also the image information of the portion is acquired by the imaging means 201 when photographing a portion including a pattern defined as a retrieval key. An image recognition means 202 recognizes the pattern by performing the recognition processing of the image information. The recognition results are added to an information retrieval request, and transmitted to a retrieval server 102 by a recognition information transmission means 203. An information retrieval means 205 in the retrieval server 102 retrieves the information to be provided on the basis of the recognition results.
