PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the monitor camera apparatus which enables a pedestrian to check the state of the image at hand which is obtained by the monitor camera for the backward of the pedestrian and to walk ahead while displaying the image taken by the above monitor camera on a display apparatus at hand so that the pedestrian can recognize dubious individuals, etc. in the back. SOLUTION: In this monitor camera apparatus 100, a small monitor camera 2 is carried by fixing it on the back or a bag in the backward direction in walking and the monitor camera is connected with a portable display 3 for displaying the image at user hand by a connection cord 4 and a condition for taking the backward image is controlled by an operation key of the portable display part 3. Therefore, a user can walk ahead without turning one's head to look back. When a women, etc. walks alone in a deserted place, feels uneasy or something like a dubious individual in the back, and so on, it becomes possible to call for help by raising an alarm in case of emergency through sensing a shadow before a crime happens, to automatically transfer an evidence photography to a police and to take other action, by carrying and using the monitor camera apparatus.
