PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning mechanism of a disk cartridge which can smoothly perform positioning operation of a disk cartridge and also can surely position the disk cartridge to the reproducing position. SOLUTION: A positioning pin 1 is supported rotatably on a mechanism chassis in a disk unit which positions the disk cartridge to a recording/reproducing position of the mechanism chassis by inserting the disk cartridge to a holder supported rotatably against the mechanism chassis and engaging the positioning pin 1 prepared in the mechanism chassis in a reference hole of the disk cartridge by rotating the holder.
