PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the continuation of succeeding communication without resetting peripheral equipment even in the case of application of a high voltage by static electricity or the like. SOLUTION: The electronic equipment for controlling connection with the peripheral equipment through an USB host chip comprises a first monitoring unit for detecting a connecting state with the peripheral equipment to monitor a change in connecting state in a first determination time, a second monitoring unit for monitoring communication between the USB host chip and a control unit in a second determination time, a determination unit for determining whether or not the peripheral equipment is connected and/or the USB host chip is communicable with the control unit on the basis of the monitoring results by the first and/second monitoring units, and the control unit for controlling the USB host chip on the basis of the determination result.
