PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation of recording quality by giving proper curving and reversing to a recorded material in face-down discharge with the recorded material being curved and reversed. SOLUTION: A curving and reversing passage is provided on the downstream side of a recording head 100, where a paper sheet P is curved and reversed for face-down discharge. Near the start position of the curving and reversing passage, a bending roller 37 is provided for forming the bending start point of the paper sheet P. On the paper sheet P subjected to ink-jet recording by the recording head 100, a cockling condition of regularly cockling in a main scanning direction is formed by a platen 65, a driving roller 32 on the downstream side of a recording part, a driven roller 33 on the downstream side of the recording part and an auxiliary roller 35b of the recording part.
