PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device using a rack supporting bushing not requiring the processing accuracy or installing accuracy to any significant degree, capable of putting the rack supporting bushing in the optimum position with respect to a rack shaft. SOLUTION: The power transmission device is structured so that the rack shaft 2 is installed in a rack housing 1 and a pinion 3 is meshed with a rack 2a formed on the rack shaft and further includes a rack hold-down mechanism for keeping the rack meshing with the pinion properly and also a rack supporting bushing 6 for supporting the rack shaft installed at the end of the rack housing, wherein the rack supporting bushing 6 is furnished with an adjusting screw mechanism which intersects perpendicularly to the axial direction of the rack shaft, is movable in the direction of the rack meshing with the pinion, and adjusts the position of the rack supporting bushing.
