PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a post curable composition which carries out sufficient sealing, without inducing deterioration of elements, and to provide an adhesive for display elements and display elements using the adhesive. SOLUTION: The optically post curable composition comprises 100 pts.wt of a cationically photopolymerizing compound, 0.1-30 pts.wt of an initiator for cationic photopolymerization, 0.1-30 pts.wt of a hardening controlling agent wherein the hardening controlling agent is a compound having an ether bond. The optically post curable composition preferably comprises the hardening controlling agent having two or more polyethylene glycol and/or propylene glycol in the molecule.
