PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polyamide not excellent only in heat resistance, but excellent also in moisture absorption and to provide a method for producing the aromatic polyamide and to provide a molded product from the aromatic polyamide and an aromatic diamine compound suitable as a raw material for the aromatic polyamide and to provide a method for producing the aromatic diamine compound. SOLUTION: The aromatic diamine compound is represented by formula (I) [Ar<SP>1</SP>is an aromatic group selected from a group consisting of a 1,4-phenylene group, a 2,6-naphthylene group and a 4,4'-biphenylene group]. The aromatic polyamide is composed mainly of a recurring unit represented by formula (V) [Ar<SP>1</SP>and Ar<SP>2</SP>are each independently an aromatic group selected from the group consisting of the 1,4-phenylene group, a 2,6-naphthylene group and 4,4'-biphenylene group] and has≥0.05 and≤5.0 polymerization degree based on logarithmic viscosity.
