PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction cap and an inkjet recording device whereby even the suction cap of a constitution without a suction opening set at a central part of the cap can effectively remove ink from a cap absorber front face. SOLUTION: In the suction cap for capping a discharge opening of a recording head, the suction opening 5 which communicates with a suction pump is set at a part of a cap bottom face part 2. A sheet member 4 with a slit 7 opened to overlap at least partially with the suction opening is arranged between a cap absorber 608 which butts against a discharge opening face of the recording head, and the bottom face part 2. A flow of the air provided for a suction operation from the cap absorber 608 to the suction opening passes through the slit 7 of the sheet member 4, whereby a negative pressure from the suction opening 5 is applied to the whole of the cap absorber 608.
