Disclosed is an additive for introducing homogeneously distributed water into polymeric materials during production and processing processes. A hydrophilic supporting material of said additive is loaded with 30 to 90 percent by weight of water and is provided with a powdery and thus dispersion-favorable constellation. In an advantageous application of the additive for lowering emissions of toxic and/or odorous substances, the additive is homogeneously incorporated into the melted polymer, and the melted polymer comprising the incorporated additive is subjected to negative pressure. The inventive additive is also suitable for producing foamed plastic products. |
