RECEIVING METHOD AND DEVICE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein power consumption increases when processing accuracy is improved in receive processing.

SOLUTION: A first A/D converting unit 22 converts a received analog signal into a digital signal. First and second pre-demapping units 40 and 42 conduct pre-demapping processing. A diversity synthesizer 44 conducts diversity synthesizing processor. A Viterbi decoding unit 52 conducts Viterbi decoding processing of hard decision or soft decision for a data signal. An encoding unit 64 makes the data signal Viterbi-decoded by the Viterbi decoding unit 52 into a convolutional coded signal again. A measuring unit 66 calculates a bit error rate. A processing accuracy selecting unit 68 compares the bit error rate calculated by the measuring unit 66 with a predetermined threshold, and selects one processing accuracy out of a plurality of values provided as selectable in receive processing.
