<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment provided with a communicating function, wherein the operation of charging a battery can be performed with ease and stability. <P>SOLUTION: A headset 20 is provided with a wireless communication device 58 and a rechargeable battery 51. When a power cable 53 is connected to a power supply connector 205 when charging the battery 51, this state is detected by a power supply connector status detecting portion 56. If communication with other equipment is underway through the wireless communication device 58 at this time, after disconnection processing is carried out, CPU 54 is turned off and brought into operation stoppage state.
