<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of an elevator control system wherein operation efficiency of the whole system is worsened when a full passenger passing change-over switch is off and the sum of the number of passengers waiting at a landing place and the number of passengers in a car exceeds car loading load in the case of congestion. <P>SOLUTION: In this elevator control system, the number of passengers in a car is inferred after stop for inferring the number of passengers in a car at the time of departure after next time stop by a device for detecting the number of passengers waiting at a landing place and a device for detecting the number of passengers in the car to determine whether full passenger passing or stop at the landing place is performed.
