PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a fuel inlet offering sufficient durability even in a severe salt-damage area.
SOLUTION: The fuel inlet is manufactured as explained hereafter. A stainless steel pipe to be an inlet pipe 1 is first subjected to bulge-forming and bending, and then one end of the stainless steel pipe is eccentrically expanded, while removing a part showing considerable work-hardening. After the process for pipe-expansion is finished, the pipe is drilled to make a hole, into which a breather pipe is inserted. On the inside of the eccentrically expanded part of the pipe, a guide is spot-welded and a screw part is formed. After degreasing and washing the pipe as a pretreatment for brazing, the brazing is carried out using BAg-4 (a low-temperature brazing material) at 750-850°C. Then, after removing flux and washing the pipe as a posttreatment for brazing, coating is finally carried out.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
|
