<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable type optical attenuator which suppresses the cost increase and performs the attenuation control of the quantity of light emitted from a light source at high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A galvanometer 12 included in the variable type optical attenuator has a shielding board 10 of which the turning angle is fixed according to current values. A plurality of different kinds of slits 22 through which luminous flux emitted from the light source 24 passes are formed on the surface of the shielding board 10. The turning angle of the shielding board 10 is selected by matching the optical axis of the light source 24 and the geometrical center of an arbitrary slit 22 of the shielding board 10 at an initial state, thereby performing the attenuation control of the luminous flux after passing the shielding board 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
