PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provideε-polylysine fine powder having low water content and/or low moisture absorption per unit surface area and a method for producing the fine powder in high efficiency. SOLUTION: As a result of vigorous investigation of the method for producingε-polylysine fine powder having low water content, it has been found that the powder is produced by drying an aqueous solution ofε-polylysine in the presence of an entrainer under reduced pressure, dissolving the obtained solid in methanol, adding a poor solvent ofε-polylysine having a boiling point higher than that of methanol, such as isopropanol, distilling off methanol under reduced pressure, separating the precipitate by filtration and drying the product.
