DATABASE MANAGEMENT METHOD, ITS OPERATION SYSTEM, AND ITS PROCESSING PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep tuning precision while lowering a tuning information acquisition time and to prevent reduction of transaction throughput by sampling and acquiring the tuning information in consideration of arrangement of data stored in a database. SOLUTION: This database management method is provided with a step for computing a cluster ratio showing density of rows stored in the same page as the just previous row, a step for deciding a scan objective page according to the computed cluster ratio for acquiring data and computing the tuning information on the basis of the acquired data, and a step for deciding an execution plan for tuning access to the database by using the computed tuning information and performing database processing by executing the execution plan.
