摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device having structure in which an optical part where light from a light source is directly inputted is independently cooled. SOLUTION: The image display device is equipped with a white light source 1, an elliptic mirror 2 which makes a secondary light source, a light tunnel 3 which is arranged adjacent to the secondary light source, a color filter 4 which is arranged adjacent to the other end of the light tunnel, a condenser lens 5 through which light beam passing through the filter 4 passes, a planar mirror 6 which reflects light beam passing through the condenser lens, a spherical mirror 7 which further reflects light beam passing through the mirror 6, a DMD 8 in which a large number of pixels are two-dimensionally arranged and light reflected by the mirror 7 is made incident on the pixels and which makes on/off state by changing an output angle of the reflected light by changing inclination of the micromirrors of a large number of the pixels, and a projection lens 9 which expands and projects reflected light from the micromirror of the pixel being an on-state. Further the device has a first cooling member for cooling the white light source 1 from its side face and a second cooling member for cooling an irradiation part of the white light source from its side face to individually cool the white light source and the optical part arranged at the white light source.
