PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding structure in the case the adjustment of rubber elastic supporter strain, by which a construction cost can be reduced by decreasing the number of pushing moving means such as jacks, efficiently conducting strain-adjustment work and a method for adjusting strain by using it. SOLUTION: A lower base plate 2 is so constituted that first projecting sections 23 are formed on both sides while a lower mounting plate 12 is constituted by forming second projecting sections 15 on both sides, and holding jigs 4 holding spaces of the first projecting sections 23 and the second projecting sections 15 are engaged with the sections 23 and the sections 15 when shear strain is removed from a rubber elastic supporter 1.
