PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door stop which has a good-looking small magnet and prevents the erroneous operation of a locking mechanism. SOLUTION: The doorstop can fix a door to a fully opened location by attracting the magnet attached to the door to a plate formed of a magnetic body set on a floor surface in a rockable manner, and also can implement both the temporary fixing or the firm locking of the plate attracted to the magnet. The door stop has a first locking mechanism for locking a hook at a location where the hook is engaged with the plate, and an operating member for operating the first locking mechanism from the outside. When the hook is not engaged with the plate, the first locking mechanism interferes with the operating member, and therefore the operation of the operating member is inhibited. On the other hand, when the hook is engaged with the plate, the hook moves the first locking mechanism, and therefore the operation of the operating member is allowed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
