EXTRACTION OF EFFECTIVE INGREDIENT FROM GINSENG AND RED GINSENG

PURPOSE: A method of extracting effective ingredients from ginseng and red ginseng by grinding and extracting them by successive use of a solvent is provided. It allows the efficient obtainment of pharmacological components while minimizing discarded parts during the process. CONSTITUTION: Ginseng and red ginseng are added 8 to 12 times with water and then extracted for 3 to 7hr at 70 to 90deg.C. The extraction residues are added 8 to 12 times with water and extracted for 2 to 4hr at 40 to 60deg.C after adjusting the pH to 9.0 to 11.0. Then, the extraction residues are added 10 to 15 times with 40 to 60% ethanol and extracted for 2 to 4hr, the extraction residues are added 10 to 15 times with petroleum ether and extracted for 2 to 4hr. The hot water extract and ethanol extract are filtered and freeze dried to give crude saponine solids, polysaccharides and crude acidic polysaccharides. The petroleum ether extract is concentrated under reduced pressure and filled with nitrogen gas to obtain polyacethylene.
