Process to prepare naphthenic hydrocarbons-rich hydrocarbon streams

Preparation of naphthenic hydrocarbon fluids by treatment of a petroleum cut obtained from the effluents of a catalytic cracking or vapour cracking unit. Preparation of a hydrocarbon fluid containing at least 705 wt. of naphthenic hydrocarbons and with an aromatics content less than or equal to 1% comprising stages of (1) (a) withdrawal from an effluent fractionating column of a non-hydrogenating conversion unit, of a hydrocarbon cut of distillation range 100 - 400[deg]C containing at least 705 vol of cyclic unsaturated hydrocarbons; (2) (b) hydrodesulfuration of the cut to obtain a desulfurized cut with a S content less than 50 ppm wt; (3) (c) controlled hydrogenation of the cut in the presence of H 2 and a catalyst comprising a group VIII metal on a solid support at 80 - 350[deg]C and H 2 partial pressure of 30 - 200X10 5>; (4) (d) recovery of the fluid containing at least 70% wt. of naphthenic hydrocarbons and aromatics less than or equal to 1% wt. An independent claim is also included for the installation to effect the process.
