PURPOSE: A material control system is provided to improve a return efficiency in a working line by receiving the work information influencing a return work in real-time. CONSTITUTION: A return command manager(20) manages the information for an actual layout, and the periodically received real-time information for the load and the waited work number of an automatic warehouse for each link, and transfers data when a near module requests the data. An optimal return path generator(30) calculates an expected return time through modeling by receiving the layout information and periodically receiving the real-time work information from the return command manager, and selects a return path having the shortest expected return time as the optimal return path from results. A return command executer(40) requests the path search to the optimal return path generator by receiving a return command of process unit from the return command manager, and makes a return equipment control system(50) execute the return by receiving the result.
