<p>Oxidation of organic substrates using singlet oxygen (1>O2) is effected by (a) treating 1 mol. of a tin (II) salt in an organic solvent at -80 to 20[deg]C with 1-2.0 mols. of ozone; and (b) supplying the thus-formed 1>O2 directly to the oxidation process.
