Aqueous coating

Coating composition comprises: (i) a condensation product (A) of a carboxyl group-containing resin (A1) and a hydroxyl group-containing resin (A2); and (ii) a curing agent (C) that is a mixture of a water-insoluble blocked isocyanate (C1) and a hydrophilically modified blocked isocyanate (C2). The curing agent only becomes active above 80 degrees C. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) preparation of the resin coating composition comprising a polycondensation reaction in which the residual carboxyl groups are neutralized to 60-95%, dispersing the resin in water and mixing the dispersion with the curing agent; and (2) a method for coating the resin composition on to a metallic surface to produce surface films.
