PRODUCTION OF FILMS COMPOSED OF THIN LAYERS

A method is described of forming a film comprising at least one layer of at least one resin, which method comprises directing droplets of a liquid composition comprising:
a) the said at least one resin; and
h) a diluent for the resin, said diluent consisting of at least one curable diluent,
onto an array of locations on a substrate, the liquid composition being sent as droplets onto the substrate by an inkjet printing system, preferably a piezo inkjet sytem, form a continuous layer on the substrate, and curing the curable materials in the continuous layer to solidify the layer. The composition may contain nano-particles and the layer formed has preferably a thickness of less than 10 micron.
