The device has a tapered ring (10) interposed between a jaw clutching coupling sleeve (3) and a transmission gearwheel (1,2), and linked in rotation with the sleeve by a imitation (11). The imitation brings the ring in contact on a tapered axle end (13) of a cylindrical wall by friction during displacement of the sleeve. The wall is integrated to a lateral face of the gear wheel around a jaw clutch (5).
